My early 2011 is leaking a little but not to the point of dripping. Bike is out of warranty so Service Manager recommended I not fix it unless it gets worse. He said its an expensive repair and will not hurt anything unless it loses a lot of primary oil. I may try the silicone fix at some point.
TN, so it IS primary oil that I see! Wasnt sure but it ( the oil drops) was so clean I figured no way it was leaking from the actual engine oil compartment.
You have extended warranty, $50.00, get it fixed right, don't know why it would take a week, my 09 Ultra had that leak at 35,000 miles, made appointment with dealer, made sure they had the part and was in and out in less than 3 hours, also good time to check compensator if you don't have the new SE version
LR, yeah, this is my thought right now. I paid for an Extended warranty for just these types of issues so I might as well get my money's worth. With 42K on this motor its probably a good excuse to pop off that primary and take a look inside at that compensator that I keep reading so much about. Maybe replace with SE comp or wait for aftermarket solution from Darkhorse. Also great time to slap on that chrome inner primary.
I had to replace the stator on my EVO because it shorted out, and I had to put STP on the new plug to get it installed it was so tight. It has never leaked. It was a much tighter plug than the old one with more ribbing on it. If mine did leak I would use one of those sealers on it. You might do a search on it because there was someone that found a sealant that wicked in around the plug and sealed it up. You are not the first to have one leak.
hoethree, have not been into my primary except to adjust the clutch at derby cover, but my understanding is the stator plug is a part of the stator wire made into the stator. Stator has to be replaced to replace the plug. I think the primary case and compensator have to be removed to replace the stator but could be wrong since mine was not bad enough yet to dig into it. If I was under warranty I'd sure let service do it.

TN,yes, this is my understanding also. If the plug leaks the whole stator (whatever that is!) has to be replaced. Seems like a huge waste to me if I can seal it with something that will hold. Not sure how to go here. Since its under warranty, this just might be the time to do some things inside that primary ie compensator, etc. Have also been coveting a chrome inner primary. I think that might help the medicine to go down. Hell,,for all I know it might be something else leaking altogether, but don't think so.
