That's great for you guys that don't carry and probably never need it. Everyone has there opinion. Hopefully I never have to need my piece. But if thetime arises... I prefer to have a fighting chance. It is my right to want to defend myself and family.
Anyhoo... I can see where this topic is going to go. Opinions are like (censored), everyone has one. My choice is to even the odds. The only one thing I can say in relation to the left is, If you carry... practice and practice religiously! If you carry and rarely practice, chances are.. your gun will endanger you rather than help you. I go to the range4 days out of the 7 day week. It may seem excessive but it is one of my many hobbies.

Not sure why anyone wants or needs to carry
I've been carrying a firearm legally ever since the State of Texasbegan issuing Concealed Handgun Licenses. I have also taught both the initial CHL class as well asthe CHL renewal classes for a number of years. Having a firearm has literally saved my life (and that of my wife) on two separation occasions. While I can respect those individuals who elect not to carry a firearm for whatever reasons. I would also expect that they, in turn, respect my decision (and right) to carry same. Unfortunately, we live in a society whereby every citizen should give some serious thought to having some means of self protection (firearm, keys, mace, pepper spray, bat, knife, etc) in place in the event that they find themselves in a precarious situation.
And what if you get a bit jittered some day and use it?
How does time inside feel.
Not sure why anyone wants or needs to carry
wait till someone has a gun at your or your families head holding you at gunpoint and your gonna wish the guy across the way was carring if you were not. You will soon realize why ANYONE would need it.
I carry a fire extinguisher in my Jeep even though it's never caught fire.
It's also a God-given right according to the United States Constitution. How would youreact if I said: "I'm not sure why anyone wants or needs freedom of speech or religion?"
Oh great............. I need a permit for that, and here I thought my Hunting license covered everything,or was it if I scoped my super redhawk it would look like i was hunting. Now you have me all confused

Ride thru chicago packin, and you' may spend the nite at Cook Cty. jail. You won't get your gun back, but you may make some friends.Anyone here about Tank Johnson? His bodyguard bumped into a guy on a dance floor,so the guy shot him to death right there. And Tank is probably going to do time for playin badass by shooting his gun off in a county where it's illegal. So it's not a right everywhere.I almost wish they'd give gangbangers shooting lessons, they kill so many innocent people just sitting on their front steps.
When I go through or into badlands, Norfolk Va is the only place I carried regularly, worked in a drug infested area in south Norfolk, nightly shootings, usually worked past dark. Colt 1911 .45 cal ( Guess I like American made steel ). Never a problem.
