And all these years, I've been using the same old metal cake pan I got from my ex wife's kitchen...
i bought mine at discount. just a hair over $20. and you know you have wasted at least that much more than once on buying stuff for the bike. i like it because it fits under the bike, even though the bike is lowered. my other one was a pita because with it lowered, it was difficult to get to the drain screw.

I got the cake pan with the 5 finger discount from the kitchen...works pretty good under my old shovelhead too, and that thing is slammed...
maybe so. but after i'm done draining the oil on my bike, i put the caps on it, put it in the back of the truck and drive it to the local oil change place and empty it there. i'd be nervous about driving with a half full cake pan of oil in the back of my truck
I cut a hole in the side of of 1 gallon antifreeze jug and put a plastic plug in it. Of course I should a Harley sticker on it to make it better to use.
Whatever anyone wants to use is none of my business. I'm curious about the orange plugs you guys refer to, they must be something new I haven't seen before.
Looks like the center orange plug is where the oil drains into and the one on the edge is to let the air out of the reservoir so it doesn't "burp" and splash oil all over. Looks like it has a hardware area for the drain plugs too...

I never thought about giving the cake pan the scenic tour...
Putting the oil in the 5 gal bucket, putting the lid on it, and taking it to the disposal site when full always seemed to make sense to me, tho...
