Hey. I know many are pondering the new 2014 SG and SG Special. I'm however looking at used Street Glides. Currently I've got a line on a number of bikes from 2011, 2012 and 2013. Each has less than 4,000 miles, not much in the way of upgrades, and all are in very good shape. Rubber is good on all.
So what I'm asking for is some inside knowledge on the basic (and the more involved) differences. I gather the '11 is 96ci vs the others at 103ci. And I know there was a change to the frame for 2013,that I assume was an improvement. (Guys, the 2014 just isn't within reach, so don't tell me to count my pennies.... I wish I could). Thanks in advance.
it seems that you already know the difference between them. other then what you know. as far as what you as a rider would concern yourself with there really is nothing different from what I have seen or you have mentioned and that frame change wasn't that big of a deal anyhow.

The '11 could be either a 96" or 103". The 103" was an option in '11.
Not sure about any frame differences in the 3 years listed.
The big change to the touring line came in 2009.
To be honest, you can't go wrong with any year you listed.
Any bike you pick (even if you was to swing a new '14), will always have something updated or changed for the better just around the corner.
You have to draw the line somewhere, and there thousands of '11 - '13 perfectly good bikes on the road.
I'm in exactly the same position. One thing I definitely will want is ABS. After locking up front and back (no other choice, trust me) in June and going down, I'm not interested in anything without ABS. I would also want the 103ci.
My 11 Street Glide is a 103,It was called a Power Pac Option in 2011,You got The 103 security an ABS.The 103 an ABS is nice.I would want the 103 an ABS,There Are Plenty Of Low Mileage Street Glides Out there For Sale Find a Good One An Good Luck.
I have a 2012 SG. Great bike. I think the 2010 or 2011 may only have the exhaust on one side of the bike in the rear. Some may like that look or some may not.
I made my move. Picked up a 2011 Street Glide with 660 miles oh her. Added to the Screamin' Eagle heavy breather with a set of Rhinehart 4" slip-ons, mini-apes, Avon grips and a Klockwerks Flare shield.
