Default looking for input on street glide purchase

This is the year to get back on a bike, it has been three years without . My last ride was an 07 street glide. Loved my street glide, so that is the bike I will be purchasing again.Looking for pros and cons on street glides years 07 to current. Not really thinking new, cant afford. But is the 103 in motor worth saving a little more to purchase? Also abs brakes and new frame on new models compared to the 07. Is there a year of street glide that stands out above the rest?

I would go for the 103 motor if you can. It also comes with SE compensator and oil cooler. When I got my 2010, I wanted the 103 but the funds ran out. I am going back and forth with the 107 kit.

I would also look at 2009 and newer. I like the new frame an bigger rear tire.

Is color something thats important? That may determine what years you will want to look at.

I'm with luc.who.

I also suggest the 103 as it's a great platform to start from. Many, many options to achieve any goal you want.

I also think the new frame is a huge upgrade from the previous one. Bigger rear tire could be a factor but doesn't really break a deal in my opinion.

I would highly recommend getting one with ABS. It's a fantasic feature that will get the bike stopped safely in an emergency situation in less than ideal conditions. I've used it personally and it works just as advertised...

The 103's were options in 2011, and standard in 2012. Also 2011 was the first year of the SE compensator as the stock comp.

Love my '11 with the 103 and abs. Been a great platform/powerplant to build a bike from. I decatted the head pipe and did a stage I and am very happy, all things considered.

My 2012 Street Glide also has the ABS option.
Highly recommend.

Was there a year the sg had 2 into 1 exhaust? Was that mostly cosmetic, or were there performance issues?

There was year with a 2 into 1 I am not sure what year it was. I think it was 2010. I would put a greater preference on the 6-speed transmission than the motor size. My buddies who do not have the 6-Speed cannot keep up. I have the 103 with the ABS in a 2012 model. I love the bike, it has great power, great stopping ability. A motor can always be punched out in the future to a larger size if needed as well.

I won't purchase a new bike without the ABS and security option.
I have it on my 2012 SG and think it is worth the extra cash.

Go new and loaded. You'll be wishing you had the extra options later on.
