I would never ride anything without a full face. Since I am coming from race bikes, I am used to them, plus I have seen what a jaw looks like after being dragged on asphalt at 70+mph. No, thank you.

As for comfort - if you are moving, and you have a quality helmet, there is a LOT of ventilation. I prefer Shoei and my previous RF1000 was good, but my current RF1100 is even better. There are a lot of vents in them. When you stop at a headlight, you can pop open the shield and enjoy the breeze.

[QUOTE=AnotherBlackSG;11852357]Perhaps a rider's safety course would be wise because clearly, something isn't right

believe it or not I went through it on my first accident. The other two other people hit me.

As far as apes go, I tired them an loved em and from everyone I talk to its either a love em or leave em attitude

Your head protected your bike and you are here to tell us about it? You better play the lottery.

As far as apes I am waiting for new cables to arrive so I can have a set of 12's installed. Just want something close to level with my shoulders.

Did you read how any of his accidents happened? I must have missed that.

Sometimes crap happens, no matter how good or careful a rider is, or how many classes they take.

First one I was a rookie rider, locked up the back tired in a drizzle rain and slid on my back about 30 yards. No helemet not injuries other than road rash.

Second one I was going through an intersection (I had the green) and the turning lane should have yeilded to me, they didnt. Totaled my dyna no helmet again and no injuries

This one (hopefully the last) driver turned from the left lane into me, left side of my bike and face are smashed up. Also severe concussion

I was also resistant to a FF, thinking it would be restrictive, claustrophobic, hot, etc etc. I bought a Shoei f-1000 a couple of years ago to wear in colder weather. By the time winter was over I was wearing it 90% of the time. I don't find it any hotter in the summer and the only real obstruction is my downward vision: meaning that I have to tilt my head a bit to see the speedometer. Not a problem. It's also quieter at speed than a 1/2 or 3/4.

A side affect of the FF is that I also rarely ride with a windshield now either.
I like that as I do not like the look of my bike with one.

Yeah, you're right. Here's the thing though, I don't know OP or his ability or style. What I do know is that the 3 friends who were killed in the last 10 years and the ones who have the most accidents are the ones who ride/rode like ********. Despite having ridden all their lives, they were just bad riders - full throttle everywhere, expecting everyone else to look out for them (instead of the other way around), too complacent, drunk, and just doing stupid/dangerous stuff.

It's true, sometimes **** happens, and other times, we let it.

Again, I'm not trying to dis OP and it's good that he's OK and looking for some protection now. I'm just sharing personal observations & experiences from my life.
