When I see a wrong way, do not enter sign on the highways. Screw that! Ima biker, we dont follow them rules.

This has got to be the same attitude people have when they blast down the dead end road I live on. I live 100 yards from the end of the road and they blast by at 40mph, in a 15 zone. Not a guess. The police regularly give tickets out for 40 in a 15. They dont need to read the dead end sign, or the speed limit sign right after it.

My guess is the riders claiming these stunts dont ride much, and will have short riding life spans. Some things stupid can fix and this is one of them fixable situations. Thank god this is the internet and these kinds of "bikers" barely exsist on the road.

Out where I live in rural America, there's a lot of wheat fields. During the summer, before, during and after harvest, there is a lot of farming equipment that use various parts of the same roads that I use. It is nothing unusual around here, if nobody is coming, to cross the solid yellow line and pass the farm rigs. It has also been done by cars and trucks, so it isn't just a biker thing, many do it.

I travel the same roads frequently. WI DOT changed their guidelines a few years ago, and took many passing zones and made them no passing. So it didn't get more dangerous, state just got more cautious. Many people don't know how to pass anymore. And with an 8 year driver's license,, instead of 4, like it used to be, more people try to pass when they shouldn't, because they have poor vision.

The only time I will pass in a solid yellow is to pass a slow accelerating semi, or farm implement, and I know I can do it safely. Some of you people that follow rules blindly, that is your business. But I am going to use some common sense, even if it makes me risk a ticket.

enjoying their time on the road, I do all I can to enjoy it more than they do!

Well Mike all that I can suggest is a big bore kit with some low to mid range cams
for faster passing when you are doing 68 behind a big rig, or a slowpoke in a 75
MPH speed limit. That is the exact same reason I had my 103 built the way I did
so that if I drop my bike down into 5 gear and gas it I'll jump from 68 to 108 in
about a half of a dad gum heart beat. The road I travel to work has passing zones
but they are as short as short can be. Now I know you know your limits, you study
the care or truck in front of you then decide what you are going to do if somebody
shows up headed straight for you, so rock on and have fun.

One of my concerns here on Maui is the slickness of the paint (white or yellow) used to mark the roads. From white turn arrows, pedestrian crossing walkways, centerline and right side "fog" line markings to the yellow centerlines whether solid or broken.

If wet from rain, they are even more treacherous. If you're crossing the yellow line to pass a slow poke, be careful crossing back into your original lane. The paint can be deadly.

Gee. Winter is two months away, but the winter posts have begun. So much for global warming.

That got me hit once, when the guy I was letting slip past came up on an oncoming car neither of us saw. He decided hitting me was better then the head on and took me out. Being a nice guy sometimes is more trouble than its worth.

If you people think just because there is a double yellow it's not safe to pass, you don't need to be riding a motorcycle. There is much more to the decisions to pass, the double yellow is close to the bottom of the list.
