I had a suzuki like that and i liked it...also if you were in gear with the clutch pulled in, with the kickstand down, when you let out on the clutch it killed the motor...that's the part i liked. When i was a kid there was a guy that lived real close to me that pulled out of his driveway on his harleywiththe kickstand down, hedidnt makeit out of3rd gear when he had to turn a left handed curve. He bounced off the kickstand and into a tree face first and it killed him.

I guess I'm a lucky one. I've never had a problem adjusting to the idiosyncrasies of individual motorcycles. Except in my garage I always use the kill switch with the trans in 1st gear and consequently always pull in my clutch to start my bike. I've seen too many bikes that were parked in neutral do the roll downhill.

Having ridden Harleys most of my life I never had such as that.I learned the hard way if you drive off with the kickstand down, you could be in for a supprise.

D@#$![sm=wtf.gif]
A little common sense & paying attention to what you're doing goes a long way.[sm=rant.gif]

I always use the kill switch to turn of the engine & usually park it in neutral. Common sense tells you to put it in gear if you park it on a hill.

For those who don't already do so, it's a good idea to develop a routine that you always follow every time you start or shut down your bike. Doing things the same way every time will help you torealize if you misscritical steps in your procedure.
