been riding 20+ years most of that time wuz metric. still have a DRZ (fun bike) i have no problem with jumpin from my HD to my Suzuki.
if i had to bitch, the horn button & the turn signals get me every now and then. they are dif on metric. never had a kick stand problem.
peace.
NO JOKE....don't you hate when you stab for the turn signal and hit the HORN!!!! &!@#$[:@] No one probably notices what just happened, but still can't help being embarrassed. If that happens to me, I try to wave at an imaginary person just behind the people that are staring at me.

It happened to me at night when I was going for the bright switch and instead hit the horn switch, scared the crap out of me.
The only thing that's gotten me is forgetting to put it in neutral before starting a couple times. With my old ride, it wouldn't do anything while on the side stand unless it was in neutral. Fortunately, the jiffy stand kept the bike upright both times and counting. LOL

If I remember correctly that starting with 07 Harley Davidson's will not start without pulling in the clutch while on the stand. I haven't tried it but I think remember the service manage showing me that during his he did his new bike checkout with me when I picked up my Ultra. It can only be a matter of time until they adopt the kill switch too.
I cannot believe that HD allows the bike to start in gear. I always make sure whenI park it to put it in neutral. Feel bad for the guys who forget to, and then drop the bike starting it...I for one rarely sit on the bike when I initially start it...like to let it warm up for about a minute...

That is one of the beautiful things about Harley Davidson. Pure, basic motorcycle. No gimmicks. No hidden switches. None of that crap. I've had the metrics with their air ride, stereos, intercomes, etc and I'll take my dinosaur anytime over them.
One time I was standing beside the bike, I hit the starter to warm it up...it was in gear, started on the first crank (pre-PCIII days) and I had to do a 20 foot jog before I got the clutch pulled in!![sm=insomnia.gif]I got lucky in that I didn't lay it over and nobody saw me do it...lesson learned.
