Unless you're a trained professional, I bet you can't out brake a car of bike with ABS.
Don't tell me, you think drum brakes are superior to drum? The fact is, ABS is better. I'd like linked brakes also.
The fact is this abs is better for many riders because the average harley rider isn't very good. And this abs system on these bikes is not very good. Linked brakes? Just get a trike or a car.

Please don't tell me you're also one of those claiming you can out brake an ABS system. I call bullshit to anyone here that lays such a claim unless they're a highly trained professional.
Linked brakes are also better. Driving a car has nothing to do with it.

Call whatever you want. You probably don't understand the definition of average, which most harley riders struggle to even be that good. Thats why abs exists on hd's not because it makes the braking better. It doesn't even take a highly trained professional, just a good rider to outperform the terrible hd abs especially on an uneven surface. But you guys just keep buying into this crap and singing to yourself "I wish I were an Oscar Meyer Weiner"
hey I didn't mean to stir the pot bringing up trail braking.. my only point was to say that it is a valid street riding technique.. and it's more than just dragging the rear brake into a turn.. As far as front brake, rear brake or both.. I'm not gonna argue that point.. A long time ago, I was a WERA guy.. back then, the schools and track day instructors.. included slighty dragging the rear at times when teaching or discussing trail braking.. but again, that was a long time ago and like I said.. it's not worth the arguement.. at least not to me.. I'm an old guy.. my racing days are long over.. Personally, I use trail braking alot.. especially on my XR.. and I do it the way I was taught.. But I'm not gonna claim to be any kind of end all expert.. I ride a full dresser most of the time so.. hey read up and decide for yourself.. Finally, sorry if I ruffled any feathers.. it's all good people.. whatever works for you.. is fine by me..
As for ABS and linked brakes.. I like having ABS.. and having been to ride like a pro and getting a few private "slow speed" lessons.. I really like how they disengage below 25 miles an hour.. It's like I said.. I'm no expert.. I ride alot but I'll never claim to be one of the better riders in here.. Bottom line is I really like the new bike.. ABS, linked brakes.. whatever.. I'm looking forward to lots of miles and lots of good times..
Didn't read my post, did you? I trail brake through every corner, and have for decades. Didn't bother with your article, but if it says that trail braking is anything but front brake into a corner to load the front end, then releasing it at apex while throttling on, it's wrong.
Nick Ienatsch is wrong? Racer, lead instructor at Freddie Spencer, creator and lead instructor at Yamaha Champions Riding School and author?
Nothing wrong with using the rear brakes whatsoever when trail braking.

Does your car have ABS?

They do and that one reason they can lap faster than ever before.

I wouldn't want to put down good money betting you can outperform ABS brakes.
