I wanted to ride last weekend and early this week it was warm enough but the roads were too wet with snow melt run off and still to much salt. I saw others riding but as much as I wanted too with laced wheels there was no way I was going out. Salt eats chrome and if it got on the wheels and seeped into the rim by the spokes there is no way the clean it without taking the tires off. So I guess I waiting a little while longer now. Need some 50 deg weather and some rain.
I wish I could send you some of our 99° weather from Phoenix today which is a little to hot for us this time of year. I guess I shouldn't complain since it wasn't to bad of a day to ride until I got stuck in Stop and Go traffic on my way home and it wasmore stop then go. Remember spring is only 5 days away.
I don't hate snow, it's how I make a living as a heavy equipment operator throughout the long winter months. I just heard about sporty down at the local gasstation fueling up. Last year I couldn't get my bike out till 2 days after easter. With this being one of the coldest March's on record who knows how long it'll be before I can ride again. Put the bike away in late October and now I feel like I'm losing my mind.
I'd take snow over the 4" of ice thats outside now.....and more coming thru tom AM.....left work at 3PM today for home - regular 1/2 hr drive took almost 2 hrs....arghh...a little bad weather and people just can't freakin drive [:@]
Crazy weather...had a nice ride earlier this week on the scoot....and NOW its snowmobile weather...
Yeah...same here. I'm going to pick up my new ride tomorrow morning. All week they were predicting a high of 6C (about 45F) with partly sunny skies. I had fantasies of riding home, instead of trailering the Fatty. Tonight we're undera freezing rain warning, and now tomorrow's predicted high is 2C (about 35F). Winter blows!! Any chance Arizona could unilaterally annex Alberta? I'd love to be able to ride year round. Only a dream around here. On the other hand, at the height of summer, being this far north, our 'days' last about 17 or 18 hours, so what we lose in months, we make up for in hours per day during the riding season. Now if I only didn't have to work...[:@]
i do not mind the snow. . . . i got 3 days in on my scooter last weekend so it's all good.
for everyone who luvs to tell us north eastern riders about how they have 80's & 90's all year round i say good fer you guyz but what u don't get is beautiful spring mornings. and the leaves and rides of autum afternoons.
