So.....what are the dealers in your area saying on availabity (or lack there of)of new bikes because of the strike last month??
Have they raised their prices' because of it?
My hometown dealer only said they were not getting all their inventory as requested.
No price increase though.
Dealer in the town where I'm working, just tried to use it as a means to sell me the bike in the color I want(White/Gold) say's he's not sure if he will be getting anymore that color or not.
Not quite ready to purchase yet, so no real concern to me......yet!!!
Will be flying home next week....then my concern will start!!
Doesn't seem like an issue here in PA, and no price increases that I have seen anywhere that I have been. If the dealer doesn't have it, someone else will and they should be able to dealer trade for one.
Heck, won't be more that four months (July) and the 08's will be out
I'm still being told that the Road Glide I had on order is still on schedule for a 3/21 ship date. I'll believe it when I see it.
On the other hand, the same dealer had their remaining Heritage allocation for the model year canceled (the Softails are built at the same plant as the tourers).
I know my local HD dealership seems to have a problem getting Fat Boys into their showroom. I was in there a couple of months back, when I first started looking for a bike. Some nice stuff, but no Fattys. I ended up buying at a dealership about an hour SE of here. I was back in the local HD dealership this afternoon (buying shiny bits...) and the saleman I'd been dealing with back in January asked me if I was back to buy this time around, then he noticed the hoodie I was wearing. (Which I'd been given at the dealership where I bought my bike...) He says, "You didn't buy from them, did you?" I said I had. He asked why, when they'd have matched (notice he said match not beat!) any deal they had to offer. I told him "You said you couldn't get me a Fat Boy, and they had about 5 on their showroom floor." (The used '04 I ended up buying, a couple of new '06's, and a couple of new '07's...) He shouldn't worry too much...they'll still get my hard earned bucks when it comes to shiny bits and maintenance. I'm not going to do a 2 hr round trip every time I want a piece of chrome. I don't know if this FB shortage is due to the strike, or what. However they've NEVER had one on the showroom floor at either of the local HD dealerships in Edmonton anytime I've been in.
Took a ride to the dealer Monday to see whats going on , not a lot of kings and street glides a few but only the denim and a few nasty 2 tones , a ton of sportys and v-rods . They actually had a 06 v-rod dropped down 3 grand !
Have about 5 dealers within a 50 mile drive. One has about 300 new bikes in stock, pretty much all models. My specialty bike however was pushed back 8 weeks due to strike.

Other than Road Glides, which many dealerships to not order at all, '07s and '06s are still out there. The market in this area is soft and discounts (with various gimmicks) abound.
I just got my 2007 RK Custom $800 below MSRP. With snow on the ground and slow sales they were ready to deal in North Virginia. They have a lot of bike on the show room floor, all types.
