congrats. will you miss the smaller bike for around town??
I cannot answer that yet. I didn't think I'd miss my dog Bowser so much after he died, and I was right, I don't. I like the RKC a lot, but I'd rather miss the bike than my wife on long rides. She just didn't feel comfortable on the Road King and was a matter of time until she would say she didn't want to ride. I wouldn't think there'd be much difference, though I'm curious how the faring will affect my depth/distance perception in city traffic at moderate speeds. I'll get used to it, and with a smile on my face I'm sure.

I thought the same thing after years on bikes with nothing but wind and sunglasses in front. I made the switch with the bike I have today. You will not notice the faring at all not even once. You vision is way above it. You will find out you were doing almost everything on your RK by muscle memory and feel not by sight.
Yep nice ride for her and now she can talk to you via the intercom system instead of yelling!!!! Like Ron White said,, for diamonds "Diamonds they take her breath away" or the real,," Diamonds, that will shut her up!"
OK...listen to this. I have been eyeballing an Ultra (Currently riding an 06 SG with stock seat and passenger backrest) Wife never has complained about the ride and goes with it. So yesterday I took her to the dealership and walked around as she bought some clothing and told her to buy what she wants. When the shopping spree was over I walked over to the Ultra I want and we looked and talked. Thinking I had her in a good mood, I asked her what she thought......she stated 'that's an old people bike!!!! if you want a new bike look at this one' as she pointed to a new SG??? Now I have to tell you she is 62 and I am 59. Guess I will never get her figured out?
Congrats on the new bike , love the pin strip flames ! In a project in doing that same idea , but just on front fender and side covers and onto bags , looks nice !
She will enjoy the tour pack and the back rest plus the saddle bag guards have more room. The bike just feels different. I went from a 12 limited and my wife couldnt tell the difference between a shovel and a twin cam but she says the 14 is much better to ride than the 12, Has more room for her too. Happy miles to you both.
