Thumbs down Classy Chassis, Lakefield, ON - less than classy

I bought my 2011 Street Glide at this used H-D dealer in September '13. Over the last few years a few of my friends and I had made it a frequent summer destination, to look at their bikes and enjoy the roads in the area. One of those friends bought an Ultra Classic through them a couple of years ago. I don't think he's had any after-sales experiences as he lives a couple of hundred kilometers away.

Anyway, I'd thought the place was pretty straight up and I was understanding when they hadn't installed my Klock Werks windshield or touched up some paint damage on the bags that they'd committed to fix before delivery. So I waited till they installed the shield and took possession with their promise that they'd fix the bags. My bad on the bags.... I already had a voice telling me that it would be very inconvenient to get the bags up to them in the off-season as they're a fair distance from where I live. I'd just swallow it and get them done myself. Whatever the case, I'd gotten myself there to pick up my new bike and wasn't going to drive away without it. They'd told me the pipes were Screamin' Eagles when I put my money down to purchase, but I'd asked that they switch them over to Rineharts, which they did. Then, having ridden home, I called and asked about picking up the Screamin' Eagles as the bike, and presumably the pipes, only had 600 miles on them (it's a U.S. bike). They told me I'd need to come the next day (a work day for me), that they'd "dispose of the pipes" if I didn't, and that the pipes they'd removed weren't Screamin' Eagles.

So now that it's winter, I have my bike at a local shop where I'm getting some work done. It's a great shop. They've pointed out to me that my cables, which were replaced when I upgraded to mini apes prior to taking delivery, are mismatched.... one stock and one braided. I've now called Classy Chassis to ask what happened to the cables and, after a long explanation of what might have happened, they're not going to do anything about it.

My experience with these people has been very unsatisfactory since I actually purchased the bike. They were awesome up till then. I'm not a complainer and I see there were things I should have gotten settled in the moment, that would have avoided the whole issue of relying on them doing the right things. So, lesson learned for me, and hopefully a heads-up for those who may be looking at Classy Chassis' (admittedly very nice) stock. Perhaps you'll have different luck.
