Default Battery"Born on Date"

With Spring slowly getting here,I know I will be needing a new battery. Not sure what brand.Probably the usual Big Crank or the Deka.
Does anybody know if there is a way to see the "Born on Date",of the battery.Serial number or lot number or something so I know that I am getting a "fresh" battery, and not one that has been on the shelf or warehouse for a length of time ? Thankyou

They usually come dry when I buy them, and the acid is supplied separately. The clock doesn't start ticking until the acid is put in.

Have you contacted the manufacture of the battery? Maybe they have the code for breaking down the lot number.

I believe there's a date clock on the bottom of the battery . Which is a clock with the year in the center and the twelve months on the outside .

Duh! They are sealed after you fill them with plugs and do not breath at all. How do you think the ones that have acid already in them are done? Clue-It is not by magic.

I'm replacing the battery in my '13 as the bike was built in September, 2012.

We're planning on going to Texas, Nevada and Utah in June and that heat is very hard on batteries.

I'll put the older battery in another bike and rotate that battery to the generator.

I though a maintenance free Sealed Battery was a permanently sealed battery from the factory ? & not something that can be opened ... or leak ...

No ?

The AGM batteries that you buy dry are maintenance free. The strip of plugs seal as well as the factory ones. At the factory they are filled then plugged.

It is an analogy to your putting the oil into your motor or the dealer. Makes no difference.
