Living in San Diego, I hardly ever ride in the rain, but sometimes you need something to get you through a shower.
I always carry a set of inexpensive, really lightweight and effective Froggtogs. They are cheap and pack really light and compact.
They also provide additional warmth when needed by simply slipping over what ever else you are wearing. Totally windproof too.
For long distance tourers others may be better, but for something that you carry often, but wear seldom, they do the job cheap too. try sportsmans warehouse.
Amen to this. As I had stated in my post near the top, I have way better rain suits that I used when bass fishing. Yes they are way better for staying dry when fishing all day in the rain. But that being said, I didn't always pack them in the boat. But you can bet your last dollar that I had a set (or 2 or 3) of Frogg Toggs in the boat at all times.
