The Biker is sensitive to the needs of his woman.....that's why he put that little pad on the back of his hardtail so she wouldn't have to ride on the fender.
Heres the deal....I have a co-worker that i have been debaiting this actual question. What makes a "Biker " vs a guy or gal that just owns a Harley ? I'm looking forward to the inputs... I myself am just a guy that owns a harley...SO is this guy I work with....He claims to be a BIKER...I want to show him this post after some good input...lol
Thanks Ben
Anyone that rides is a biker and there are different levels.
I only have a bike and thats the way I like it, if I have to go somewhere and the weather is bad to bad. I don't know if that qualifies for biker status or not and don't really care.
I do call some my buds I ride with wussies cause they wont ride if they even "think" the weather is going to be bad, but I would not say they are not bikers cause they will put down some miles when they need to.
My kid (5 years old) has a battery poweredHarley and a Yamaha PW50. At thebiker friendly restaurant we frequent while standing in line for the head he looks up at this leater vest, chaps, doorag wearing guy an says "I'ma biker". The guy looks down and says to him You are? You got a bike? Without missing a beat the kid says "I got 2and my dad (points at me) does too"! He is a biker. BTW he does ride them.
Being a biker is what you think and feel about yourself. Can't say it is an attitude but that's kinda the way it is. Being a biker does not mean that HD is the most important thing in your life but thinking of HD never leaves.
I've heard this sort of question all my life. I grew up on ranches, traveled the road rodeoing 14 years and to this day enjoy my horses, and have been asked "are you a Cowboy" I always said "Honey, if you cant tell then it doesnt really matter". The western world is full of "wannabes" and "wishtheyweres" I have been truly thrilled and feel blessedthese past few years since I've bought my first bike. While traveling around meeting other "bike riders" I've come to the conclusion that its no different than before. Its the soul and passion of the machine/rider combo. It's in the heart. You dont become a biker. You are or you arent. I've never askedanyone, personally speaking. I dont have to ask. And you dont have to tell.
I would really rather NOT have someone come up to me and tell me that they're a "Biker". because if I cant tell, then it dont really matter.
I think I'm a biker. I hate driving my brand new sports car. It sits. I have had it since May. I bought my last Harley in November. The car has 5400 miles on it and my last bike had 3000 when I traded it in for my current Sportie. I rode to Austin on Christmas in 40 degree rain. No rain gear. I'm either a biker or an idiot. Chance of rain? I ride. Freezing? I ride. I have the passion to ride and it's a habit I can't break. My family says I made a mistake buying the bike. I tell them I made a mistake buying the car. I'm trying to sell the car so I can drivea junker onimpossible riding days.

Hey, I dont know. Am I a biker? I have a 93 sportster that has 5000 miles on it. I ride when I want to ride. I have no tats. I have leather "biker" jackets in my closet Ive never worn. I bought my 06 dyna in April, that has 1200 miles on it. I enjoy riding my bike, but I ride on my own terms. I ride with my buddies who have yamaha, suzuki, big dog, titan, and vespa. I ride 500 yds at a time with each of my twin daughters on the back. Sometimes I wear my full face helmet, sometimes half helmet, sometimes just the bandana, (ever been hit in the head by a bug without one at 50mph?) I consider my self a biker. Not hardcore by any means, but a biker just the same. By the way, the sportster I bought new in Sep 92. Ive been riding.... sparingly ever since.
