I have used NJ ez pass in different vehicles and never had a problem. I have one I take from the bike to another vehicle. Do it all the time. They really don't care as long as the toll's paid.
I do the same think..move my ez-pass from pick up to bike and back again. Never had a problem.
In PA. I have my one Easy Pass transponder registered to all 4 of my vehicles including my bike and just swap the transponder from vehicle to vehicle as needed. I believe they are all the same class up to 10,000 Lbs or something but I could be wrong.
In Illinois my I-PASS stays in the car. I registered two of my motorcycles license plates on the account. (We are allowd to have up to three vehicles registered on each I-PASS.) When I am on the bike, since the plates are registered, they automatically charge my account - no fine - even if the I-PASS is not physically on the bike.

I don't think NY is so easy going. I have actually talked to a rep at EZPass, and of course NY wants the most money from you, so they want two seperate passes. Guess I'll just order it in May. It's not that big of a deal really, was just wondering if anyone in NY actually does just move a vehicle one back and forth.
I just pick up a New York E-Z PASS for my bike. It is different where it has a big "M" on the tag. In addition, I was told by a E-Z Pass rep. the toll cost for the bike is less than a car. But be care for not to use bike tag on your car to pay a lower toll. Here in New York, Big Brother is always watching. You need to also register you bike's plate number with New York E-Z Pass. This is a good idea in case the E-Z Pass fail while going thru a toll. They take a photo of your plate # and if your plate is register with E-Z Pass they would charge the toll to your account.
As the person above said just don't use the bike for the car. I used to use my pass for whatever rental car I was in or my pickup, which you're not supposed to do but they really don't care - the toll is paid. When I was on my bike I took it with me until one time it didn't register and the toll guy said I should get the bike pass because I would save money - so I did. It's usually much cheaper and in some places like Jersey and Mass I think some roads are FREE for bikes because they are "clean pass" vehicles.
I received what they call a "mobile ezpass" for my bike here in Oklahoma. Didn't cost me a dime. I fits in a small mesh bag that's tied behind the windshield on my risers. Toll charges are applied to the account that our other vehicles are on.

That's nice but I don't think Oklahoma law will help with a New York bike.
You sure as sh*% can't bring your Oklahoma guns here
