Thanks Alias, I called our sign guy and he said it's basically the same product car dealers use to prep new cars when they come in all gunked up. He suggested the NAPA New Car Prep.
That's a funny thought! NAPA had no ide what New Car Prep was. A local detail shop told me most cleaners like Simple green would work. I just wanted to be careful because I ruined a boat seat about 20 years ago with Pine Sol, turned it into mushy gluey stuff. Had to pitch it!
ive never had any problems with it al all.... i put a light dressing on the sidewalls (no tread) and all is good.
if the stuff were in the treads, id be concerned.
Hopefully it's not slick stuff. I made the mistake of using something similar on the sidewalls and then realized after riding it that the force of gravity beads it right over the sides onto the tread face. Scary. I don't worry about slicking up my tires anymore. I like them dull and grippy.
I used to Armor All my FXRP seat all the time. My butt would slide all over it for a day but then it would be okay.
I never used it on the tyres tho....
Now I never pick on anyones misfortune................BUT, "Who the hell DOESN'T know that you can't put Armor All on your bike tires?????? Take his keys away from him and NEVER let him ride again
