I had cataract surgery in both eyes a couple years back.
Lens implants corrected my vision to 20/15. I can count the hairs on a gnats ***** if I'm far enough away.
Since the surgery I HAVE to wear sunglasses in daytime, everything is so bright.
I also have to wear reading glasses for anything up close. It's been a challenge to find sunglasses with readers. I need them to read any of the gauges on my Street Glide. It's been impossible to find any locally that are worth a crap.
I ordered a pair from readers.com, I got them on Friday, so happy with them that I ordered two more pair today. $15 a pair if anybody is interested.
Me too, had the surgery and now have very good far vision, near 20/20. The surgery didn't do anything for my near vision. Last year I used dark cheap goggles (which were great for riding), but I was always reaching for my bifocals at gas stations, to read odometer, maps, and stuff like that. Came into a little money, and sprung for a pair of top notch polarized shades with graduated bifocals, about $325.00. I went out for a long ride yesterday, and after a few miles at highway speed, I pulled over and got out the cheap goggles. The really great shades I purchased do not block enough wind for these chilly early spring days. The new shades might be OK for warmer weather riding, I hope so. Thanks for the posting. Those shades look great.
I'm getting a cataract in my left eye but it's not that bad yet. I wear bifocals and my face shield is tinted, so I'm basically doing sunglasses all day. What concerns me is, if my vison improves with the surgery, I'll have to get new glasses...not that I'd rather have a cataract.
I guess I'm worried about the operation than anything.
Go to optx2020.com - they make stick-on reading lenses that can be trimmed to fit any glasses you have. There is also a number: 800-344-2020.
Yes, I use them and they are the cat's fanny.
Been there, and I ordered a pair of from 7Eye - sent my Rx and they made to order. I got transitions / UV protected so I can use them day and night. I also opted for correct distance vision and use readers for close work.
