Congrats !! It's hard to explain to anyone but once you experience it you know your a Harley rider for life , sounds like your wife has a whole different perspective too , win win .
Perfect statement you made - "win win". And that's the truth. Neither of us knew until we rode it for longer than a demo... And you're right, no one could have explained to me what it is that I experience now; it's truly beyond words. So much so that, again, it's working on my wife.... It's an amazing thing to behold. It really is.
Before turning out the light I said, " I will read one more post". Glad I read yours! We work our asses off through life to have some enjoyment and owning a Harley is a reward for hard work and a truly unique experience. You will be amazed at how often you walk into the garage just to look at your bike. Welcome aboard to you and the Mrs. At 48 you have a lot of miles ahead of you. Enjoy!
+1 on not opening the parts catalog because it will cost you! It's also a very social bike. What other brand can you stop at the dealer on a saturday and there's 50 people just hanging out.

Congratz, glad you're enjoying the move to HD. As much as some of us complain about the motor company and some of the goofy people in the HD culture, most of us wouldn't have anything else.
Ignore any complainers you meet, most fight like siblings, and just enjoy the new scooter. I've never owned anything but HD and don't know if I skipped any experience other find beneficial, but I'm positive I didn't "miss" anything good.
Welcome!
BTW, My lady sleeps a lot while we ride...and I mean she's skipped states the size of New Mexico while we ride. These things might be too comfortable
