This just in.....
Link While it does not (at this time) appear to affect Touring bikes, this headline on Motorcycle.com is interesting:
2013-2014 Harley-Davidson Breakout Recalled For Faulty Fuel Indicators .. what is interesting is there is a little snippet in the article that indicates the mis-reading gas gauges can be corrected by .... software?? ... There have been lots of posts from people with inaccurate gauges on the touring forum ... wonder if there is any relationship??
Cheers

I bet it is, im sure Harley wouldnt hesitate to use the same parts for other models of that year or even prior years. I just dont see them manufacturing a different unit just because its a different model.

The recall solution requires a speedometer reflash from Digital Technician. It does NOT require speedometer replacement.
1. Confirm that the motorcycle is involved and that the recall is open.
2. Reflash the speedometer using Digital Technician II.
3. Verify that the speedometer part number has been updated to the new part number.

Mine varies from fill up to fill up. I can fill it up and it'll show 190. Then I can put less in it and it'll say 215.

Even EFI works like this. I find it amusing people can't do this.
