So I'm on my way to work today in the fast lane, 68 in 5th gear (60 zone), I round a corner and see a guy leaning on his seat with his arms crossed on his chest - like he was waiting. Thinking "hey I'm going to finally get to stop and lend assistance if needed". I get right on top of him and it's a Washington State Trooper in short sleeves, not pointing the radar gun at anyone enjoying our 65 degree sunny day! I get along side of him and say "your not in any trouble, I pulled off because I saw a Biker in trouble". He says "no I'm not in any trouble and your OK (thought maybe I just knew I had been had so pulled over) but thanks for doing that". So we chatted for a minute and I headed out. Five minutes later we go bumper to bumper and some guy next to me wants to know if that cop gave me a ticket. When I said "no, I stopped for him" I got this are you kidding me look. Don't expect a non-biker to understand. Enjoyed the rest of my commute into Seattle.

Hopefully he'll remember you if he ever pulls you over in the future
Well, good for you Dave. You are to be commended. If you think it's safe to do so, stopping for someone you think might be in trouble is always a good and decent thing to do. ... no matter who it is.
