That is felonious assult in all 50.. How you maintained your composure, you're a better man than I. Im not a violent person but I swear on all sacred I would have pulled her out the window..
She would have just told the cops that it was an accident and she didn't see him, him being on a bike and all. It's an unfortunate incident, but there's not really a whole hell of a lot the OP could have done about it without getting himself into trouble. Unless she hawked a big luggie on him, it wouldn't even have been all that easy to prove she had spit in the first place.
Infuriating to be sure, but the OP probably did the smart thing.
Wow quite an unexpected response...so here goes:
1. Was it spit? Yupp I believe that's all it was, was pretty much dried up by the time I got home. No gooey sticky stuff.
2. Could I have gone after her? For sure this is the first thing that goes through your mind but with the traffic I was in if I'd tried to pull into the right turn lane I'd have almost certainly caused an accident which would have gotten me and my bike hurt and been my fault. Just not worth it. I own guns but don't carry one. I would not even consider firing one at someone for something like this. The person who said they'd shoot her tires out was probably not serious anyway, at least I hope not.
3. Did I get her plate number? Yes, at least I thought I did. I have a cop friend here in town that ran the plate number for me this afternoon (even though he really isn't suppose to do it) in the .24 seconds I had to see it I got the number wrong...the plate number I remembered was not the car the b@@@h was driving. I probably wouldn't have done anything if I had the plate right and did know who she was anyway.
So...no real harm done, pissed me off, raised my blood pressure that's about all.
