If she was really cute could have been a great ice breaker like "that's the wettest kiss anyone has ever blown my way" or "Having a bad day, let's get a beer". If she was ugly, get her tag and call the police. Save the DNA evidence.
Yep, I would have followed her too and asked why she spit on me. I would then kick the side of her car.
Yea, I know kicking her car is vandalism but spitting on me is an assault.
Who knows what kind of blood borne pathogens she shared with you.
I think it is fairly safe to assume the woman was a feminist...aka man hater.
I hear ya....What if she has aids or what else is living in her filthy mouth.

Actually spitting is a serious crime. As Sputum carries a host of diseases, in most states it is considered "Agrevated Battery" and carries a serious prison term. The fact that this person spat on you speaks volumes to their inability to control themselves, and they probably have done it before. No do not let it go, this is a vile crime. If the person hit you in the mucous membranes (eyes, nose or mouth) the crime gets worse, as the chances of infection are real. You can demand that person pay for testing for diseases, and also demand (by court order) that the person is tested for all diseases, the scariest of which is Hep C. Go to the police, make a proper report. You should have done this at the scene, but hindsight is 20/20. Bring any witnesses that you can to the incident. With any luck you will have some witnesses that are not related to you. Good luck. I hope they go after her. Remember that you can make a citizens arrest in this case also. You put yourself at a liability risk, but if you have right on your side go for it. Before I started my career in Law Enforcement, I worked as Mall Security ...although they are hard working folks...they have little to no training on the laws of their state.

Well as I said before there wasn't a whole lot I could do with the traffic situation as it was. Pulling out of a stopped straight thru lane bumper to bumper full into a right turn lane with a steady stream of cars that are not stopping when they get to the intersection (even though they should stop, no one seems too) would be nothing less than suicide. In the split second I did see the car I thought I'd gotten the license number but later found I didn't get it right.
In my line of work I need to dress up most days, doesn't keep me from riding. I doubt my tie had anything to do with it. I am guessing that if the bitch thought there was any chance of me pursuing her she wouldn't have done it.
When something like this happens most persons first reaction is to retaliate, mine too. But any sane person will like wise immediately assess the situation and see what the likely hood of success is. In this case the likely hood of success was about .1%, the likely hood of dying in a traffic accident was about 99.9%.
