I bought a used set of Vance and Hines Straight Shots just before last winter. They came with "baffles", but are really loud. So today, I decided to pull them and see how they're constructed... this is what I pulled out of the pipes:
So, I'm essentially running straight pipes, heheheh... no wonder they're so loud. Well, if I'm going to be running straight pipe volume, I may as well get the deeper tone and extra low-end torque from a set of Thunder Monsters... which I will be ordering in short order!
The reason your baffled straightshotsare so loudis because someone has cut you baffles. Originially the baffles are longer that yours.
Oh yeah, I know that, heheheh... It's really obvious that they've been cut. I had thought that they were this loud with the full baffles in them, and was not going to buy the Thunder Monsters figuring they'd be even louder (I like my neighbours, hehehe...), but since I am running straight pipes anyway, the volume won't be higher, so I'm gonna get the TMs.
