Currently have V and H Short Shots with baffles in on my 09 Night Train....they are LAF.....very....like small children and dogs go running when I ride by on the throttle.....and while I love loud pipes, I also want to drive into work at 0700 and not be 'that guy"
I have a chance to get some Hooker Fourbiddens which I love, but I just dont want them to be any louder.....from what I can tell they arent, just a nice low end rumble.....but loud on the high end (which I can deal with)
Not to mention, here in Germany, they dont just ticket you, you either fix it roadside or tow your ride.....so I am also carrying some tire tubes and zap straps in case of an "emergency quieting" situation lol...
Anyone have a chance to hear both set ups want to chime in?
have you tried the quiet baffles that are made by vance hines
No, a quick google tells me that they arent very good at all. Not to mention I am getting the Hookers for free, so I will try them before spending money on baffles.....there are a couple baffles comapnies out there that do work well with the Short Shots.....I may go that route...AFTEr I have tried the Hookers....
Not good? How? I had put the quiet baffles in my V&Hs and it really toned down the LAF. Still good low-end rumble, but still plenty loud when you get on it.

Do a search on here and there is a lot of guys saying they dont do a lot.....like I said though, I may go that route if the Hookers dont pan out....

See your signature pic.. you have long pipes and they are way out the back.
I have the straighshots and there is a minimal difference between the stock and "quiet" baffle, the only difference is the "rasp" is reduced but they are still too loud to be legal at all rpms..
Don't waste your money on the baffles, I have no idea how the hooker pipes sound but I have had hooker mufflers on muscle cars and they were pretty loud also..
I'm going to be switching my straight shots with a Sampson powerflow III, I gave the powerflow II on my roadglide and with te 2.5" baffle its loud when I get on it but a much more reasonable volume while cruising at 2800-3200rpms on the highway.

Ya that is the general consensus.....I will give the hookers a go.....just cause i am getting them free, otherwise I will have to figure out another solution....
Ran Hooker Fourbidden on my Train for about 6 months. Great Pipes! Loud, but I ran them open. Had to re-jet the carb to eliminate decel pop. Only reason I removed them was because of the heat. Even though they're coated, they get very hot.
