Default engine guard

Kind of just doing little upgrades here and there. I was thinking I should have done an engine guard before I left the dealership. Want to beef up the Fat Boy a little and protect it. I am still a newbie to my Fatty. How much are they and how much to install them?

They are about 200 bucks.. a bit less if you go non-HD

Free if you have your own tools, it's not hard.. 3 bolts with locknuts and washers..

dont pay labor for the easy stuff, just make sure you dont drop a tool on ur bike

HD model is $200. Others, $150-$250. I personally am incapable of doing anything myself and it took me no more than 15 minutes to put one on my 06 fxdi.

They are torx bolts and you will need a toruque wrench as well... (least the HD ones are)

Thought I'd add that bit of info

I know lindy sells a nice guard, but very expensive. I went with HD model, believe it or not I think they are about the cheapest.

Be sure and use some locktite. Use it on everything you install.

Get the harley model, its sturdier, and you can put your highway pegs on it. My budddy has an off brand and its pretty flimsy.
