Age old question, age old answer, if I had to explain it to you, you wouldn't understand.

All of the above!! Seriously, if you have to ask?? The Soul, sound of the rumble under you and coming at you should be enough to explain why a Harley-Davidson is for most, but I guess not everyone(I could say a lot of bad things here…but I won't)!!! Fire one up under you, and you will understand!! Peace.

Some of you all need to actually read the posts. This is my 3rd HD over 25yrs. So I don't "have" to ask to understand why I do. The question is why YOU do.

Wanted one since I was old enough to know what a motorcycle was....Got my first basket case when I was 13.
Built it, rode it....Been riding them ever since.

They're easy to work on and fun to ride....Nothing else matters.

I've had Suzukis in the past, a small displacement (~185-250cc) in Wisconsin back in the late 1960's and mid 1970's. No Bike in the 1980's, 1990's and early 2000's. I moved to Maui in January 2011 and one of my first purchases was a Suzuki s40 Boulevard, 650cc Thumper. I rode it for about a year and sold it to buy a 2009 XL883. My brother, Sam who owned and rode an XL1200 in Metro Chicago convinced me to get the Harley and he was right... it handles, sounds, and has a presence like no other motorcycle out there. By the way, The TV program that sucked me in was Then Came Bronson with Michael Parks from September 1969 to September 1970.

He Who Lives In Joy Does His Creator's Will".

I'll disagree with that statement. Although, you probably meant buying new. I never buy new, so I don't think that I'll ever lose my *** on the latest bike to have the privilege of parking next to my Harley: A 2000 BMW R1100RT, 33k, $3200. A great touring bike that I can actually lean over more than 30 degrees, but I still love scrapping the floorboards on the Harley in "spirited" (does that even apply?) riding.

Ok, I'll go that route. I am a person that likes watching westerns. I have a few western type firearms. To me, I like Winchester rifles and Colt SAA revolvers and anything else is just a copy. I can also say the same thing about Harleys, anything else is just a copy and I like the original not a copy. Is that better?

LOL. Yeah. Better. Those, "Dude, if I have to explain ya wouldn't understand" posts are ridiculous.
