I use a plastic gallon water jug. I cut it so that the curved part of the jug fits the contour of my motor around the filter. It fits pretty perfectly. I'm amazed at how well it fits. I even cut a little lip so it curves around the back side of the filter.
catches 110% of all oil. I don't punch any holes. I unscrew the filter and it falls right on the tray I cut from the jug.
I'm going on Shark Tank next week to try and strike a deal with Mr. Wondeful.
By following someone's suggestion on this forum, I made a nice funnel out of heavy duty aluminum foil, and it worked great. I don't think I spilled a drop. The key is to hold it up against the block under the filter really tight while unscrewing the filter.

110%? My god man, you've just solved the energy crisis! I would think Mr.Wonderful and his fellow moguls would be fighting each other tooth and nail to get in on your invention. I'd wish you luck but you clearly don't need any.

I try not to watch much tv, but I love than dumb show
The best method I have found cut a 4"x 10" strip out a cheap plastic placemat from Wally World and place it under the filter. I then drill or punch 2 holes in the end of the filter at 6 & 12 o'clock. Put a small container under the end of the cut plastic placemat to collect the oil from the filter. I then walk away and leave it to drain all night. When I go back and remove the filter there is nothing to drip on the front motor mount.
