Anyone try one of the Green Light Trigger devices? I recently purchased one off ebay and placed it under my bike. Can't really tell how it works. Need to get out at night with no traffic to try it. Just wondering if theses are a gimmick or they work.
i had one on my old v-star and would have sworn by it. I have since moved on to a RK and have never installed the light changer. I haven't had a problem with lights with the new bike.
I have to wonder how much gimmick there is to it.
I have often thought about walking over one of the sensors and just waving the light changer over the sensors to see if it even works.

RE: Green Light Trigger
A friend of mine with a 'sport bike' said he didn't have enough steel to trigger the sensors. He bought 1 for his bike, and said it worked. Never had a problem with my Softail or Dyna.

Doesn't have to be steel to trigger the unit. It operates by sensing a change in inductance. Any metal that can affect inductance will work. I set the sensor on the gate where I work to operate when an aluminum framed bicycle passes over the loop. I also set one off by carrying a spool of copper wire over the loop.
If your bike won't set one off when you are at the corner of the inductive loop, call whoever is in charge of the thing, and gripe about it. Squeaky wheel gets the grease.
I am a trigger device. In the state where I live, it is legal to run a redlight on a motorcycle if the light doesn't trip in a "reasonable" amount of time. Reasonable to me is "right now". The key to this is not to forget to look FIRST. Matter of fact, I just do it in any state....again, key is to look around first.
I got one on one bike and not on the other Id say it works becuase I sit at the same light on bike without it. and roll on with it. the brand I purchased was signalsorcerer can be found at most cycle shops for $20 average
