Do some research. That's how you learn without looking so uneducated. Google works wonders if you actually use it.

An FXR is not a god damn Dyna. If it doesn't have "FXD" in it's name it's not a Dyna. Twinkie riders....

OP, A Dyna will have a traditional box swing arm and shock set up in the rear with dual shocks. Quickest way to tell is they usually have an FX front end. The only Dyna so far that has an FL front end is the FLD Switchback.

The touring frames are similar, but are more akin to an FXR frame.

The only Dyna you should consider is a Wide Glide, forget all the others.

I think my Switchback is good looking. Nicest thing is it goes from bar hopper to tourer in 37 seconds. Best of both worlds.

I like the Dyna best for its handling characteristics. Shorter wheel base, increased ground clearance/lean angle and steeper steering head angle make it Harley's best handling motor bike. I can take a liesurely ride or practically corner carve with the sport bikes.

I wouldn't take it that far. I have 13" FXDX Shocks in the rear and fork work up front, so my bike has way more cornering and ground clearance than your FLD, and I'm not about to run with a seasoned rider on a super sport.

I do agree with you that the FLD's are VERY nice bikes though. If I were to buy a twinkie that would probably be it.

Tman, a seasoned sport biker sparking his knee pucks around corners? Ha, not a chance in hell. But casual every day riding I do cause many of my friends are crotch rocket riders.

Leaning that way also if I ever go TC. I think these bikes are nice. Would like to know production numbers on these and the Fatbobs, I never see either on the road. Will they be the FXR or Heritage Springer of the 2020-30s?

Quite possibly! I've been tossing around the idea of putting a fat bob front end on my old evo, but then I start realizing it wouldn't make any sense with the 140 in the rear. I like FX's for the skinny front tire anyways. The only problem with a twinkie is they need a lot of work off the showroom floor, right down to splitting the cases and I won't be ready for that ever. Too much money to go splitting the cases when a bike is new, and there is no way I would want to keep that POS stock with the cheap roller bearings on the crank pins, and all that hooplah... I'd rather split the cases on my evo and make it what I want.
