Just got back to the lodge survived another day at the rally, it was beginning to rain as I went thru Hill City a few minutes ago. Every year I find that rally week is becoming less fun, next year I'm planning on arriving the week before and leaving after the first weekend. There seems to be an abundance of idiots this year, traffic was rolling at 35 mph on 385 this morning where it usually rolls at 55 due to someone on a trike who apparently never looked in the mirror at the traffic lined up at least a mile behind him. This resulted in numerous close calls as many tried to pass at the wrong time. Was sure I was going to see a head on crash before I bailed off 385 at Canyon Lake Rd. Guess I'm getting to old for this crap, my best ride so far on this trip was Hwy18 coming in. Even Iron Mtn Rd is crowded and rolling at a crawl in the early am, which screws up my favorite morning ride. That's my rant for the day, I'm headed over to the pub here at the lodge and get a drink as I'm here for the nite.
