A couple of years ago, met Vinney and Mike(y) down in Daytona. In real-life, these guys are good people. Old man Teutle (Paul Sr.) was an original "wild one" but still went from a small start in structural steeland ornamental iron to making $M. As a hobby, he got Jr into scoots, was "discovered" and has done an awful lot as far as bringing "custom" scootersand their builders some long overdue recognition. I'm not sure if some of their TV/corporate bikes are street legal or ride-able, but ya gotta admit, they have gotten the attention of a lot of folk who otherwise would have only sneered at two-wheelers.Perhaps still rough around the edges - perhaps inflated egos - but did a lot for those of us on two wheels.

Everyone is always jealous of something they can't do or can't have. If you can build a better bike or get your own TV show, go do it otherwise STFU.

Why would anyone begrudge these guys anything. Ordinary Joes, living the American Dream. You can say what you want about them , but, I bet they've got us all beat.

They're about an hr north of here...they had $$ well before the OCC shop...Paul Sr owns like half the town from other businesses...

And while they might build a sub-par bikethey know how to package it and market it. And if they can make serious dough doing that, then more power to em. I give em credit for one thing - seeing an opportunity, catching a wave, and taking advantage of it. Thats what biz is all about. But nothing else though.

I realize I'm about to step into a shitstorm by saying this. But.........

Why begrudge folks for their successes? I mean, it's not like you have to watch their television show. And you for damn sure don't have to buy their wares. So what's the big deal?

I'd venture to say that there's not one guy on these forums who wouldn't want the size of bank that Paul, Sr. has made during the last few years. I mean, hell, they're living the American dream in a manner of speaking. I say more power to them. Would I buy one of their bikes? No way. But that doesn't mean I'm actually rooting for their demise like some of you folks.

Just my take.

I think I could build something as good if notbetter than their 'production' bikes. Betting that the Discovery Channel won't come film meinmy little-*** garage though.

I wouldhave loved the opportunity to try the 'Build or Bust'...I believe I couldadoneit.

Paul Sr. built his first chopper in 1978. I built mine in 1974. At the time I was young and had a family to feed so I sold it for what I had in it. If I knew then what I know now.
