how do you compensate for the cam grind with solid pushrods? I believe you need to adjust the pushrods to the cam/lifters
sounds to me like the lifters are pumping up and now wont run when hot .
After it "cools down ,and the lifters collapse then it runs ?

the fuel map that was in the "Crap" computer will run the bike .
It may not be the right mixture for the new "cams", but it will be consistent , not run some times ,sometimes not

Who did the cam swap?
this is hilarious that you think you are suppose to use adjustable push rods to compensate for the cam grind. thats ****ing hilarious just about every dam bolt in cam you can find for a twin cam you can use stock lifters and pushrods. some of them you need to change springs. if i had to compensate for the lift of an aftermarket cam then whats the point of a higher lift cam?? also i am referring to those adjustable pushrods as junk! why you ask lets see they tend to back off from there adjustment, theres no way to actually tell if its adjusted exactly to the right length and they have also been known to break. all those are for is for the lazy guy to save some bucks not lifting the tank and rocker boxes when in reality your paying $30 for some rocker cover gaskets and push rod sleeve o rings and maybe 1 hr more of time. go ahead waste 1$180-200 on a cool looking set you'll never even see. ill stick to the stock pushrods they've been working just fine.

now to the computer yes i referred to it as crap why? because it is crap thats a pain in the *** to deal with when your just a wrencher and not a computer dyno tuning wizard and let me tell you most people that think they know how to properly tune a bike really don't know ****. excuse me if I'm from the carbed days and actually know what the screws on the carb do. nice try with the pushrods tho gave me a good laugh!! tune cleared the bike right up.

Oaktownraider, Not to make you anymore 'flustered"..... A long time ago 1971 to 1979 I worked in a H-D dealer service department. All sportsters and shovelheads and panheads had factory adjustable pushrods from the factory... assuming my memory is correct. Now, I am in agreement with a previous poster that the tune will not cause bike's difference in hot and cold running. I would urge you to re-check installation of cams. I know I was never perfect in everything I did back in the day nor now. Good luck and I am very interested in your end results.

I know when I had the cams put in the had to Tweak the SERT... Actually they threw in a free dyno along with the install as it was a Winter special job.
Even with the Tweak they didn't get it perfect and had to redo the dyno over..

Then they got it right and she has ran perfect for the last 34K miles...
