Default Just wondering

I have a 2000 deuce and I want to raise the tank by 3", I was told it's not a good idea but I feel better air flow would help. Any advice???

Because of the location of the fuel line, you'll end up with a section of tank right at the back/bottom from which the fuel can't be used. So your effective tank capacity drops. Also, you'll lose any accuracy you had in the fuel gauge.

But... It does look awesome. I'd do it on my fatboy, only I can't raise the tank at all with the stock bars otherwise they'll hit the tank on full lock. But if and when I ever get apes, it will be the very next mod I make.

I was thinking of raising mine until I talked to a friend here, since he had raised his. What changed my mind was it messes up the "gas gauge" inside it. It looks really cool but I want all of the gas I can put into it and not have the gauge mess up.

On a Deuce you have to change the risers, or bars, on a lift that high.
