After 7000 miles on a Kawasaki Voyager 1700 Custom I cannot stand the characterless overheating notchy gearbox bike any longer, and I've just bought a 2005 88 C.I. pre O2 sensor FI Road King.
Waiting for some work to be done on it, should hopefully have it next week.
Was going to trade the Kawasaki, but stood to lose Ł5K so went for an older model Harley after doing a bit of research on the different engines and fuel injection and emission systems.
I am hoping I made the right choice with this one owner 4000 mile example. It has some imperfections but what 10 year old bike doesn't?
My Kawasaki choice just goes to show that the grass isn't always greener, and I hope that I am at least as happy with the new ride as I was with the Fatboy.
I was looking for one of the last 1340 RKs but this one came along and I just couldn't resist, plus I get a years warranty and recovery for free, and I know the dealer from before and they're a good bunch of people.
I looked at a lot of metrics before buying my Wide Glide. Kept telling myself less money more value. Yet I kept returning to the WG and admiring it with my heart instead of my wallet. In the end I'm glad I listened to the heart. I avoided the Indian Chief though, didn't want my heart getting involved at 19 grand lol.
