Just looking at new HD, im torn between the nightster and the super glide. I do not want to spend more than 14k on a bike and want to get something i will not outgrow.
i am 6 foot 2 190 lbs and 24 years old. looking for something comfortable with no customizing as i can not afford it after i buy the bike. i have sat on the super glide and street bob and like the super glide better, but not sat on the sprster, is it going to be small, and uncomfortable with my tall body and long legs?
Tom
sorry it posted twice, i got kicked offline and did not think it submitted
Sportster will be to small, you will want a bigger bike in two months.Get street bob or super glide. But if you want to do it rite the first time, you should get a used road king. You could find a nice used king for that kind of money.Take this advice, you will be glad you did.
I believe the Nightster has mid controls installed so that's something you would definetly need to upgrade from the start.
Although I'm a big fan of the Nightster I think you'd find the Street Bob or Super Glide more comfortable out of the box. You should sit on one though before you make your final decision . I think they're starting to slowly show up on the dealer floors...just my $.02 though.
i am over 6 foot and wiegh 220lbs and i ride a 1200 low with forward controls i cant understand this whole sporster is to small thing. not much difference between sporsters and dyna.
ok you got me there but the speed limit is still 70 on the hiway and slower in town so all the extra power is used for what. but i do agree the dyna is a nice bike hell any harlry is a nice bike. so whatever suits one person does not always fit what another wants i suggest test riding different models and get what feels right you will know when you ride it.

For only a little bit more money you can buy a Softail Standard - you'll be comfortable and there's no need to customize itif you don't want to,but it's a great bike to build up in a couple of years if you're ready to add a few custom touches later on...

"All that extra power is used" for getting away from situations where you're surrounded by a bunchstupid carelesscagers....
i agree with you on that one. and i will probably end up with a softail or road king in the future but will keep my sporty to. my buddy has a dyna wide glide and i can smoke him until about 60 and then he is right there.
