Had a new lady going for a ride with me for the first time. She went upstairs as I was starting the bike and pulling it out of the garage and then it happened..... forgot to put the kickstand down. Over she went ever so slow with me fighting it all the way. She rested gently on the engine guard. As I was panicking inside hoping that she did not see that, I wrestled her back up and got the stand down. 30 seconds later, my lady came back none the wiser
Dont think she would have got on if she saw that (her first ride). We were gone all day and had a blast. Told her about it later and had a laugh.
As they say: "its not if, but when"
No damage thank God.
Funny stuff. Yea those engine guards are priceless.
I still don't know why myself after riding over 30 years but about two years ago I came back home from an all day ride with friends and got to my house and got off the bike and walked away to open the garage. Kickstand UP!
I didn't even notice she was going over cause I hopped off so quick.
She laid nice on the engine guard as you said.
most of us have done that at least once (I ve done it twice in the last 8yrs).. and yes the Engine Guard saves the bike from having a lot of Damage.. In fact I've had (0) damage on my two time...
Glad there was no harm done. Well, maybe your pride but you're likely over that by now.

Yeaaaa i did that the other day after i got my new handlebars on.... stood it up all excited to see how they would feel I HAVE NO CLUE WHY I EVEN PUT MY KICK STAND UP. and with my old man watching over i tipped it... i have no crash bars so to my avail my tank laid down on the garage runner rug... no scratches! sounds like you got away lucky too! that **** is scary! you even put momentum into pushing it over because you are expecting the stand to be there ha!
