I am new to this forum so I am not sure if this has been discussed. I am looking into buying some rain gear and I would like to know what everyone's opinion is. I know you guys are experts on your opinion so any help would be appreciated. I was curious about the jumpsuit type as well as the bibbed. Thanks in advance
I will say that I have the Frog Togs and they work but are kind of on the disposable side.. I then found on this forum a HD rain suit that a guy had in new condition it was the bibs and top.The Hd suit in my opinion works very well and has some thought put in to it.Zippers and velcro on the bibs so that the legs will go on pretty easy over a size 14 1/2 boot and they stay closed while you are riding. The top fit ,s well and did not leak. On my last trip I spent 3 day,s of riding in Heavy *** rains and was very impressed..
I have a Bilt Typhoon waterproof textile jacket and a Tour Master rain pant with Nomex panels on the legs to prevent the pipes from melting the legs.
As Captain Itch said, Frogg Toggs, especially those from WalMart, are sort of disposable. That said, they pack small and can be left on the bike for if/when you're aught in a storm.
Oh, by the way, the rain gear question has only been asked approximately 125,485 times on this forum alone. lol
Bass Pro or Cabelas...fishing gear works great...oh my I'm sorry it doesn't scream HD

I did buy a pair of Gators at the HD dealer.
They work great and keep the boots and ankles dry.
Using cheap rain gear can work good until it has holes melted in it from your pipes. Its fun getting off your pipes too! I had some of HD's rain gear and it worked great. I recently picked up some Tour Master Sentinel but havent tested it in a real downpour yet. One piece suits can be a pain in the ***... especially if you have to chit in a hurry LOl
I like the Frogg Toggs as well. They work, pack small and are cheap enough that when they start to smell like wet dog (which all rain suits will) you can toss them and start over. I see you live in Louisiana, you will probably get more use out of whatever you buy than most. I lived near Leesville half a life ago and it rained every single day.
