My last couple tanks of gas on my 2011 SG I have rode about 200 miles before tank is pretty much empty. This is basically hwy miles going 60-75 mph. I'm pretty sure I have rode 230-240 miles per tank in the past. Any thoughts on what could be wrong?
Dirty air cleaner, or a change to the gas formulation in your area. In years past the summer blend we were mandated to run was horrible, we got lucky this year we didn't have to switch blends.
I'm lucky to get 190 but I've changed the pipes, air cleaner, and run a power commander.
I think we need more info.. Fuel tank size.. I assume Fuel Injected, any tuners, stage 1 or other air cleaner/exhaust mods? On my 2013 Limited I average around 40mph with Stage 1, slip-ons, and a Power Vision tune from Fuel Moto.. depending on the speed and wind conditions it could vary a few MPG either way.. so on a 6 gallon tank I get ~240 max, but I am usually filling up with around 200 miles and put about 5 gallons in.
But yeah check the obvious.. try some different gas.. ethanol can impact it (For the worse), check the air cleaner.. Maybe check your plugs to see if they look fouled at all.
My 13 street gets 40 to 45 mpg . I usually go about 220 miles and start looking for fuel. I think I would get 250 miles out of a tank though. I use Sunoco or Shell 93 octane ,a lot city driving. Might be the fuel Might have got a bad load,or you need a service.
I get 30-35 mpg in mostly urban stop-and-go riding. I'm a svelt 225+ lbs. I'm also a little happy on the throttle. I'm forced to use ethanol. Lastly, I have a stage 1.
All of the above is the absolute worst combination for getting the best fuel mileage. YMMV

bugs Sorry...street glide. I sometimes run 87...other times 91. Depends on what is available at the gas station I'm at.
Going by my experience, I'd say ethanol is the likely culprit. Dunno where you're from bugs, but in my neck of the woods all 91 is ethanol free while lower indexed blends are polluted. I get better mileage with 91 than 87 and better yet again with 91 + a couple of oz of "Seafoam" octane booster in the tank. That said, wind and other variables no doubt play a big part but ditching the ethanol really isn't a bad idea.
