Default Cleaning a grey engine ???

I've got a 2010 Nightster with the grey engine / motor and after a good wash I noticed a lot of streaks on it.

I'm not the first owner so I'm not sure what the previous one used, but it looks like he may have sprayed it with a strong degreaser.

Looking online there are lots of recommendations for black engine cleaning (s100 engine brightener) but I can't find anything for grey ....

any help ???

Black engine cleaner is simply silicone and won't do a gray motor any good. On my '00, the finish had gotten so old that out of frustration I cleaned it with oven cleaner and left the cases natural. It looks good.

What are you washing it with that leaves streaks? Could it be the detergent?
