I ride a 2012 RK with sert stage one, SE air cleaner and SE slip ons.
It has been dynoed at 81 hp and 90 tq. It is a very nice ride.
What i want is a 255 cam up grade. My dealer told me 1500.00 for cam install and dyno
Is this a fair price for just a cam and dyno ?
my builder charged me 4-1/2 hours (@ $85 per) just to do my dyno. That's $385. I think 255 cams can be bought for about $300 or a bit less. With gaskets you'll have roughly $700 in dyno labor and misc parts, leaving $800 for his labor. I think most dealers are getting $80-90 per hour for their labor.
(edit:) was just thinking, adding a tuner (i.e. Power Commander, TTS, Cobra ect will add another 4-500 bucks)
Around my neck of the woods that is about avg. for everything with dyno, having a Harley Davidson Dealership do it. I did check around with some independent shops and they was around the 1,000 buck range.
i just got my scooter back this weekend from the dealer. they installed cams, lifters new clutch spring and Clutch WIZ. They reused the stock push rods R&R complete exhaust system.
Total cost including all the parts and labor was $1400.00.

did this include a tune on the dyno, or maybe just a re-flash with a canned map?
The tuner that I will use for cams (assuming I ever actually do it...) charges $1,500 including a first class dyno tune. I assume that doesn't include the purchase of a tuner module. I already have a SEPST so I didn't ask.
Let me add to my earlier post that the quotes I got was without the purchase of a tuner as I already have the SE Pro Super Tuner and stage 1 on my bike.
