Gear issue
Hello all, I am new here. Was returning from a road trip yesterday. As I was getting off the highway, tried to down shift and nothing. Shifter was very loose. Had no gear change. I had got stopped and was able to use hand to put into neutral, at least light came on. Shifter still loose hanging downward like not connected. Place into 1st released clutch, will not move. Can move bike easily when put into gear. Feels and sounds as if going into gear. Advice/suggestions? 2006 ultra classic
A little hard to follow you but I would look at the both of the lever to shaft connections. Very common that people don't check the fasteners and they get loose or stripped.
You have one where your foot shifters attach to the front pivot shaft and one where the transmission shift shaft connects to the lever.
Look closely at the joint while moving the lever. If it's loose you will see.
