Hello, I have a 2015 HD Iron 883. Im trying to find a way to get my tires off the ground for winter storage. All the tires lifts I seem to find are for Street Bikes. Does anyone have any ideas? Also, do I need to change the trans fluid before storing? and whats the best oil for Maine winter non heated garage storage?
#1. You do NOT need to store the bike off the ground on a lift.
#2. No you do NOT need to change the tranny fluid before storing.
#3. Any good 20W-50 oil, synthetic or not, made for motorbikes. Your choice.

Pretty much this In years past I was a crazy person at the beginning of winter prepping the bikes; clean and on lifts, fresh fluids, cylinders fogged, fuel treated. Riding friends I had who did nothing more than park 'em though I was nuts but I discovered their bikes were in no worse condition than mine babied in a climate controlled garage come spring.
Now I make certain the bikes are clean, fuel is treated and the fluids are somewhat fresh; my Wide Glide's 3 holes have already been changed for the final time this season but by the time the snow flies I'll have well over 1k miles on the fluids, not a concern. I keep them on a Battery Tender and occasionally I roll them forward or backward a few inches, I do keep them covered to keep dust off them. Use whatever 20W-50 oil makes you happy; I've been using LiquiMoly 10W-60 full synthetic but it all comes down to what you like...
