05 Super Glide FXD Kick Stand Replacement

05 Super Glide FXD Kick Stand Replacement
I'm putting the stock kick stand back on as I just put the stock shocks back on. I bought the OEM kick stand as the one I'm replacing was put on when the bike was lowered.
I have an 02 service manual and it's telling to remove a cotter pin and spring, and the kick stand will drop down. It's not. I removed the spring but I see no cotter pin. Just a bolt in the top of the kickstand. So I remove the bolt but there seems to be another bracket.
The only other thing I can see to do is take the adjacent side foot board off and remove the entire bracket from the bottom of the frame.
Thoughts?
