I'm thinking of installing black apes on a heavily chromed blue bike. In my opinion, It looks tacky. What do you all think?

Sounds like a cool idea! If you look at adding some other accessories to work off those black bars and chrome that would look pretty sweet. The HD it's cut products would go really well with that I believe, i'm going that direction myself you might check them out on Harley Davidson.com or in the P&A catalog.

You're right, the black bars look out of place. I would either do chrome bars or paint the bars the same color as the frame and use chrome grips.
