Default Screaming Eagle Ventilator Install

First post, hope this is in the right spot...

Just picked up a SE ventilator for a 14 wide glide. Very simple install, my only question is that in the directions it mentions to "remove the adhesive backing from the gasket and attach to the back plate." I feel like a sped, but it seems to me that there is no adhesive on the gasket that I received, i tried for a good 30 mins to remove the lining, even tried heating it up a little bit, but with no luck. I eventually started to tear a small portion of the gasket, so i just stopped. Anyone have any experience with this? As of right now, i just lined everything up and tightened it all down, Re-tuned the ECM and fired her up for a minute (snow on the ground here, wanted to go for a ride but it was too damn cold). If there is a adhesive lining on the gasket, that i didnt remove, will i have any problems in the future? Thanks for any help

The gasket that sits between the carb or t-body and the backing plate used to have a white (or other shadeed) piece of paper covering an adhesive back. Many of them do not have that. It's probably a poorly updated instruction sheet. You would not be able to miss it unless you were Stevie Wonder.

You made me laugh with the sped comment - haven't heard that since I was a kid.

Thanks, kind of what I figured but just wanted to be sure. Harley isnt very clear, even with their simplest of directions. Didnt even mention in the instructions to put the breather hoses back on.
