Default Vent Line Help

Hey and let me start by saying, thank you for any advise hopefully to come. I have a 97 Fatboy. Several months ago, I took the front end apart, tank, dash, etc for some maintaining. During this time, I went thru a divorce. I kept my bike BUT she stole my notebook which had all my notes and sketches in. No problem. I have put everything back together just fine But i have one small issue. I have searched and searched the inter web and really haven't came up with anything. I have 2 harder molded vent tubes coming from back behind oil tank. They come up, run between fuel tanks. One clearly is the overflow because it stops right at the nipple for the overflow tube on right side tank plus it has the zip tie on for snugging it to the nipple. The OTHER line is my issue. NO IDEA and CANT REMEMBER where it goes. Like i say, runs same path as the overflow. At the end of the hard plastic molded line, about bottom of tank, it attaches a soft rubber line. It has always ran right up the side of the backbone on the same side as the overflow. It is longer, if i stretch it out, it will reach up to front of tank. No signs of being on a nipple or zip tie signs. Please help because this is all i lack to finish off my bike! Thanks for any help and i apologize if i posted in wrong area.

Looking inside the oil tank, the highest tube is the vent. The next lower tube inside the tank is the return. Bottom most outlet is feed to pump.

Where does it go? These are for the fuel system. The short one hits the nipple right beside the top crossover vent nipple which is beside the gas cap, right tank. The other tube has no place to go. Thanks for your help.

Sounds to me like the vent line that runs from the filler neck

Sorry. Thought it was an oil tank question. Looks like you have an answer though!

Yeah. In agreements that it could be #1. Where does it go up at the tank?

This is information pulled from a service manual for a Ultra I would suggest you look for a you tube video on tank removal to see more clearly where it goes.

This may help the most
