06 FXST Air Cleaner Question
I'm new to the forum and I've only been riding for a year. I bought an 06 Soft Standard last year. I am happy with how the bike rides with one exception. The guy I purchased it from had SE air cleaner tuned with V&H pipes. The bike sounds great as far as the pipes go, but between 1 and 2 gear it seems like there is hesitation almost like the air flow is suffocated. Should I take it to be retuned or try a different air cleaner? Sorry if this is posted in the wrong section.

You could probably use an aftermarket tuner such as a Power Commander. Check out Fuel Moto's web site.
If the bike was modded and "tuned" with a download from a dealer, it is still running lean and taking it back to a dealer won't fix it as they are restricted by EPA regulations.

My 06 had the exact same setup last year when I purchased it..I was unaware of the SE air cleaner and purchased a AN Big Sucker..Then proceeded to purchase a Power vision tuner..woke up the bike for sure.
